A young femme fatale-type woman realizes that the wealthy man she married is an incorrigible wastrel. Director:Robert Siodmak Writers:W. Somerset Maugham (novel) Herman J. Mankiewicz Release Date:7 June 1944 (USA) Genre:Film-Noir / Drama Stars: Deanna Durbin ... Jackie Lamont / Abigail Martin Gene Kelly ... Robert Manette Richard Whorf ... Simon Fenimore Dean Harens ... Lt. Charles Mason Gladys George ... Valerie de Merode Gale Sondergaard ... Mrs. Monette David Bruce ... Gerald Tyler This, I think, is my fav. gene movie, becuase it stars my favorite movie star of all time, [glow=red,2,300]Deanna Durbin[/glow]!! This is the first and only movie that deanna did that wasn't a happy-go-lucky musical. It didn't do too well at the theater, probably because people didn't want to see gene as a killer, and deanna in a non-musical and as a night club singer. I LOVE this movie! Has anyelse seen this movie? I think it's cool that deanna got 1st billing and not gene kelly! LOL!
